Housing Inspections

UPDATE: As of August 1, 2023, housing inspections have moved to an electronic format (accessible through the WALI Employer Portal, which you can access here). If you do not have an account, please refer to the WALI Employer Portal Instructions here. Housing requirements are NOT changing.

Applications for temporary foreign workers (TFW) through the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) and Ag Stream programs must include a housing inspection form.

A list of approved housing inspectors and their contact information can be found on the  "Housing Inspection" tab in the WALI Employer Portal.

1Can I hire my own inspector to do my housing inspection?
You can chose an inspector from the approved list found here.
2Can I use "Schedule F" for my housing inspection?
All SAWP and Agriculture Stream applicants must use the BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) housing inspection form.
3How much does an inspection cost?
The cost is negotiated between employer and inspector. It generally consists of a base fee, travel fees and other additional fees if applicable, plus GST. WALI fees must also be paid prior to receiving your housing inspections. Please refer to the 2024 WALI Fees document for a detailed breakdown.
